Tough tussle: St. Clairsville steps past Carrollton 42-35

It wasn’t pretty, gut-tough wins usually aren’t, but St. Clairsville wasn’t going for style points. A victory will do, and it was earned 42-35 over Carrollton in Ohio high school football on August 20.

The Red Devils’ train of momentum chugged along the final-quarter tracks with a 21-14 points differential.

Both offenses were stymied without points on either side in the third quarter.

A halftime tie at 21-21 allowed for a respite as both teams looked to regroup in the locker room.

The start wasn’t the problem for Carrollton, who began with a 14-6 edge over St. Clairsville through the end of the first quarter.
