It was a brilliant matchup all the way until the final 10 minutes, where Joe Ironside scored a goal for Doncaster Rovers FC.
Coming off a 2-0 loss against AFC Wimbledon, Doncaster Rovers FC defeated Accrington Stanley FC 2-1 at Wham Stadium on 14 November, 2023.
On November 14th, Doncaster Rovers FC faced off against Accrington Stanley FC at Wham Stadium. In the first half, Accrington Stanley FC got on the board first in the 7th minute when Joe Pritchard scored with an assist from Korede Adedoyin. Tensions rose as both Doncaster’s Mo Faal and Acrington’s Joe Gubbins were issued yellow cards for fouls.
The second half saw a turnaround for the away team. Zain Westbrooke, from Doncaster Rovers, scored in the 67th minute off an assist from Jack Senior. Accrington’s Seamus Conneely was also issued a yellow card in the 62nd minute of the match. Accrington Stanley attempted to fight back in extra time, but Doncaster’s Joe Ironside scored in the 101st minute with the help of George Broadbent. Both Lewis Shipley and Ben Woods from Accrington Stanley were also given yellow cards in the 110th and 115th minutes, respectively. Ultimately Doncaster Rovers FC took the 2-1 victory over the home team.
