Peterborough United FC and Salford City FC Share Spoils in 2-2 Draw at Weston Homes Stadium

Coming off a 3-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur FC U21, Peterborough United FC drew against Salford City FC 2-2 at Weston Homes Stadium on 04 November, 2023.

On 04 November, 2023, Peterborough United FC and Salford City FC went head-to-head at Weston Homes Stadium. In the first half the teams were fairly even but it was the away team, Salford City FC, who got off to a strong start, taking the lead in the 5 minute through Stephen Mallan’s goal. This prompted a reset from the home team, Peterborough United FC, and they responded with two yellow cards – one to Jadel Katongo for a foul and one to Luke Garbutt for the same offence.

In the second half, the match looked set to take a turn when Ricky Jade-Jones put Peterborough United FC ahead again in the 47th minute, with the help of Joel Randall. Unfortunately for Peterborough United FC, their own player, Zak Sturge, put the ball in the back of the net through an own goal in the 69th minute. This meant the match ended in a draw, which was eventually confirmed when Kelly N’Mai was issued a yellow card for time-wasting in the 81st minute.
