Coming off a 1-0 loss against Barrow AFC, Morecambe FC defeated Lincoln City FC 2-1 at Sincil Bank Stadium on 04 November, 2023.
The first half of the match saw Morecambe FC and Lincoln City FC battle to a 1-1 draw. Lasse Sørensen drew first blood for the home team in the 14th minute with an assist from Daniel Mandroiu. Morecambe answered with a goal by Michael Mellon at 43′, but the tense half ended at a draw. There was plenty of action in the form of yellow cards, with Timothy Eyoma, Eli King, and David Tutonda all receiving cautions for fouls.
The second half started off tight, until Tom Bloxham put the away team ahead with a goal off of Eli King’s assist in the 53rd minute. Lasse Sørensen from Lincoln City was later booked for a foul, and Joel Senior, JJ McKiernan, and Ethan Hamilton of Morecambe all received caution cards in the following minutes. Despite intense pressure from the home side, Morecambe held on to secure the 2-1 victory.
