Wolverhampton Wanderers FC Defeats Chelsea FC 1-0 Despite Multiple Yellow Cards

Matheus Nunes was a difference maker today with his goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.

Coming off a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest FC, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC defeated Chelsea FC 1-0 at Molineux Stadium on 08 April, 2023.

A tight battle was fought as Wolverhampton Wanderers FC hosted Chelsea FC in a match that ended with a 1-0 victory for the home side. In the first half, Wolverhampton took the lead through Matheus Nunes, who managed to get on the scoresheet in the 31st minute. Mario Lemina from Wolverhampton was given a yellow card for a foul in the 39th minute.

In the second half, tempers continued to flare as card were shown to both sides. In the 49th minute, Cucurella from Chelsea was carded for a foul, followed by João Gomes from Wolverhampton a few minutes later. Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Mateo Kovačić from Chelsea, and Ben Chilwell of the Blues were all given yellow cards for dissent in the 63rd, 67th and 87th minutes respectively. Despite an onslaught from the away side, Wolverhampton managed to hold on for the win.

Next up, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC will face off against Brentford FC on 15 April, 2023 at Molineux Stadium. Last time the two teams met, Brentford FC drew against Wolverhampton Wanderers FC 1-1.

Next up, Chelsea FC will face off against Real Madrid CF at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
