Dahlonega Lumpkin County didn’t flinch, finally repelling Ellijay Gilmer 31-28 in Georgia high school football on Oct. 7.

The two teams dueled to an even start, with Dahlonega Lumpkin County and Ellijay Gilmer settling for a 14-14 first-quarter knot.

The Bobcats took a 21-17 lead over the Indians heading to the intermission locker room.

Ellijay Gilmer had cause for optimism when it began the fourth quarter on top of Dahlonega Lumpkin County 28-24.

The Bobcats had the advantage to start the final quarter, but the Indians won the session and the game with a 7-0 performance.

Last season, Dahlonega Lumpkin County and Ellijay Gilmer squared off on Oct. 1, 2021 at Dahlonega Lumpkin County High School.

In recent action on Sept. 29, Ellijay Gilmer faced off against Oakwood West Hall and Dahlonega Lumpkin County took on Peachtree Corners Wesleyan on Sept. 29 at Peachtree Corners Wesleyan School.
