Nerve-racking affair ends with Monroe Central on top of River 46-44

Monroe Central found the tipping point, and leaned on it to knock off River 46-44 for an Ohio boys basketball victory on February 4.

Both teams traded salvos in the final period, but Monroe Central had enough offense to deny River in the end.

Monroe Central’s upper hand showed as it carried a 36-27 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Seminoles’ shooting darted to a 32-19 lead over the Pilots at halftime.

Neither team dominated early as the two squads struggled to a 15-15 tie through the first quarter.
