Chardon escapes North 74-72

It wasn’t pretty, gut-tough wins usually aren’t, but Chardon wasn’t going for style points. A victory will do, and it was earned 74-72 over North in an Ohio boys basketball matchup.

The verdict could’ve been in doubt thanks to the Rangers’ finishing flurry, but the Hilltoppers swerved out of trouble to earn the win in the fourth quarter.

Chardon’s influence showed as it carried a 56-52 lead into the fourth quarter.

Chardon’s shooting darted to a 40-35 lead over North at the half.

North showed it was ready to play, using an early thrust to carve out a 20-17 advantage over Chardon as the first quarter ended.
