Swainsboro edges past Statesboro in tough test

Swainsboro topped Statesboro 15-10 in a tough tilt in a Georgia high school football matchup on Sept. 3.

The Tigers opened a tight 7-3 gap over the Blue Devils at the intermission.

Offense was nothing but a rumor in the first and third quarters, as neither squad scored.

The Tigers got the better of the fourth-quarter scoring, finishing the game in style with an 8-7 edge.

In recent action on Aug. 21, Statesboro faced off against Jesup Wayne County and Swainsboro took on Metter on Aug. 20 at Metter High School.
