Newark Catholic overcomes deficit to defeat Gahanna Columbus Academy

Gahanna Columbus Academy’s advantage forced Newark Catholic to dig down, but it did to earn a 35-15 win Friday in Ohio high school football on Sept. 3.

The start wasn’t the problem for Gahanna Columbus Academy, as it began with a 9-7 edge over Newark Catholic through the end of the first quarter.

The Green Wave kept a 28-15 halftime margin at the Vikings’ expense.

Offense was nothing but a rumor in the third quarter, as neither squad scored.

The Green Wave held on with a 7-0 scoring edge in the final quarter.

In recent action on Aug. 20, Newark Catholic faced off against Columbus Bishop Ready and Gahanna Columbus Academy took on Hunting Valley University on Aug. 21 at Hunting Valley University School.
