Stone Mountain Stephenson ignored the “slow and steady wins the race” mantra, overpowering Tucker 28-3 in a Georgia high school football matchup on Sept. 23.

Each offense authored its Rip Van Winkle imitation, napping through barren first and second quarters.

Stone Mountain Stephenson and Tucker were engaged in a lopsided affair at 21-3 as the final quarter started.

The Jaguars got the better of the final-quarter scoring, finishing the game in style with a 7-0 edge.

Last season, Stone Mountain Stephenson and Tucker squared off on Sept. 10, 2021 at Tucker High School.

In recent action on Sept. 9, Tucker faced off against Dacula and Stone Mountain Stephenson took on Atlanta Carver on Sept. 9 at Atlanta Carver Early College High School.
