Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, Martinelli, Carlos Alcaraz, Theo Walcott and Duje Ćaleta-Car kept the day interesting with their respective scores.
Coming off a 2-2 draw against West Ham United FC, Arsenal FC drew against Southampton FC 3-3 at Emirates Stadium on 21 April, 2023.
The first half of the match between Arsenal FC and Southampton FC was an entertaining display of football with three goals shared between the two teams. Southampton FC got things off the mark early when Carlos Alcaraz netted after just one minute. Theo Walcott levelled up things for Arsenal FC later in the first half, with an assist by Alcaraz himself. Arsenal then shot ahead when Martinelli scored, aided by Bukayo Saka. Things got feisty soon after with both sides getting yellow cards within five minutes of each other.
The second half was just as interesting with Duje Ćaleta-Car scoring for Southampton and Marty Ødegaard for Arsenal. Another yellow card was dished out in the second half for time-wasting for Adam Armstrong. Despite both teams pushing hard for the winning goal, a 3-3 draw was enough for them to share the spoils.
Next up, Arsenal FC will face off against Manchester City FC on 26 April, 2023 at Etihad Stadium. Last time the two teams met, Manchester City FC defeated Arsenal FC 3-1.
