Coming off a 1-0 victory against Chelsea FC, Nottingham Forest FC drew against Burnley FC 1-1 at The City Ground on 18 September, 2023.

The hosts were then issued two yellow cards within the half, with James Trafford being cautioned for time wasting in the 11th minute and Orel Mangala for failing to retreat in the 32nd minute.
In the second half, Nottingham Forest became more aggressive and managed to equalize the score as Callum Hudson-Odoi scored their first goal in the 61st minute, assisted by Taiwo Awoniyi. Additionally, the second half saw Gonzalo Montiel getting a yellow card for a foul in the 34th minute. Sadly, neither team managed to build on the 1-1 score, ending the game in a draw.
