In an entertaining match on 18th August 2023, Nottingham Forest FC took the win over Sheffield United FC 2-1 at The City Ground.
The first half belonged to Nottingham Forest FC with a goal from Taiwo Awoniyi in the third minute off an assist from Serge Aurier. However, there were also two yellow cards during the half, one each for Willy Boly and Serge Aurier for foul and dissent, respectively.
The second half heated up with a goal from Gustavo Hamer for Sheffield United FC in the 48th minute. Nottingham Forest FC would secure the win with a late goal from Chris Wood, assisted by Serge Aurier in the 89th minute. There were also two second half yellow cards for Gustavo Hamer and Ben Osborn for foul and time wasting, respectfully.
