Coming off a 2-2 draw against Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC defeated Leeds United FC 6-1 at Elland Road on 17 April, 2023.
An emphatic victory for Liverpool FC, who beat Leeds United 6-1 in a thrilling match at Leeds United’s home stadium. In the first half, Liverpool took the early lead with two goals from Cody Gakpo in the 35th minute, assisted by Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah in the 39th minute, assisted by Diogo Jota. Fabinho was given a yellow card for a foul in the 42th minute.
The second half saw Leeds United pull one back through a goal from Luis Sinisterra in the 47th minute, but Liverpool reasserted their dominance and scored four more, with Diogo Jota getting two of those goals in the 52th and 73rd minute, assisted respectively by Curtis Jones and Jordan Henderson. Mohamed Salah added a fourth in the 64th minute, assisted by Cody Gakpo. In the end, Liverpool came out victorious with a 6-1 victory.
Next up, Liverpool FC will face off against Nottingham Forest FC on 22 April, 2023 at Anfield. Last time the two teams met, Nottingham Forest FC defeated Liverpool FC 1-0.
