France grinds out close victory over Australia 2-1

France poked just enough holes in Australia’s defense to garner a taut, 2-1 victory in a FIFA World Cup men’s soccer matchup on June 16.

Defense put both offenses in a deep slumber in the first half, with no one scoring.

There was no room for doubt as France added to its advantage with a 2-1 margin in the closing period.

The player with the top goal for France was Antoine Griezmann with 1 goal. The goal came at a crucial time, and they pushed France forward to victory.

The final result didn’t show it, but Mile Jedinak kept Australia as close as possible with 1 goal in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of France at Kazan Arena on June 16. Mile Jedinak deserved a better fate in light of such a showing.
