West Chester Lakota West escapes close call with Cincinnati Oak Hills

It wasn’t pretty, gut-tough wins usually aren’t, but West Chester Lakota West wasn’t going for style points.

A victory will do, and it was earned 31-24 over Cincinnati Oak Hills on September 15 in Ohio football.

There was no room for doubt as the Firebirds added to its advantage with an 8-7 margin in the closing period.

The Firebirds broke in front at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 23-17 lead over the Highlanders.

Cincinnati Oak Hills took a 17-10 lead over West Chester Lakota West heading to the intermission locker room.

The Firebirds opened with a 3-0 advantage over the Highlanders through the first quarter.
