However, it was Crystal Palace FC who seized the initiative and Eberechi Eze fired in two crucial goals in the 54 and 68 minute respectively, sealing a key victory. Southampton FC invested heavily in attack, but the side’s efforts were for naught as Cheick Doucouré provided the assist for the decisive second goal. It was a bittersweet end for Southampton FC as Roméo Lavia also received a yellow card for a foul in the 52 minute. Crystal Palace FC took full advantage of the situation.
