Coming off a 6-0 victory against Burnley FC, Manchester City FC defeated Liverpool FC 4-1 at Etihad Stadium on 01 April, 2023.
Manchester City FC took a commanding lead in their game with Liverpool FC as they came away with a 4-1 win. The first half proved to be evenly matched, with both teams managing to put a goal on the board. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 17th minute, but Julián Álvarez equalized for Manchester City a few minutes later. The first half was marked by a few yellow cards, with Mohamed Salah and Rodri from Manchester City both being cautioned for dissent and persistent infringement, respectively.
In the second half, City came out determined to take the win and Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gündogan and Jack Grealish all added to the scoring. De Bruyne opened up proceedings for the half with his own goal, with assists from Riyad Mahrez and Gündogan soon followed up with his own goal from the 53rd minute. Grealish rounded out the scoring with a goal less than twenty minutes later. At the final whistle, Manchester City had taken the commanding win over their opponents.
